School Uniform

Wearing Te Rito Harakeke - Marshland School uniform is compulsory for tamariki at school and on educational visits.

Wearing Te Rito Harakeke - Marshland School uniform is compulsory for children at school and on educational visits. The Te Rito Harakeke - Marshland School school uniform is a condition of enrolment.

Uniform items are available to purchase from The Warehouse - Northlands

JUNIOR UNIFORM - The Junior uniform consists of the following:

  • Polo top (years 1 to 6) – Red with black trim, white piping, with logo

  • Red polar fleece, with logo

  • Skort, with logo

  • Black jacket (soft shell), with logo.

  • Pants, black drill cotton, with logo

  • Shorts, black drill cotton rugger Shorts, with logo

  • Red bucket sunhat, with logo (must be worn in Terms 1 and 4)

  • Black shoes

  • Black socks

SENIOR UNIFORM - The Senior uniform consists of the following:

  • Polo top (Years 7-8) – Black with red trim, white piping, with logo

  • Red polar fleece, with logo

  • Skort, with logo

  • Black jacket (soft shell), with logo. Senior jackets have ‘Seniors' embroidered on the back.

  • Pants, black drill cotton, with logo

  • Shorts, black drill cotton rugger shorts, with logo

  • Red bucket sunhat, with logo (must be worn in Terms 1 & 4)

  • Black shoes

  • Black socks

OTHER UNIFORM GUIDELINES

  • Red and black are the school colours, and no other colour is acceptable.

  • Shoulder length or longer hair needs to be tied up.

  • Hairbands, bows or ties can be worn if they are red or black.

  • No jewellery except for jewellery of cultural significance and plain stud earrings (1-2 per ear). No other visible piercings are allowed.

  • No nail polish and makeup.

  • Please make sure that your child wears sensible black shoes to school, which will enable them to run and climb safely. Please note that Jandals, slip-ons, flimsy shoes, and coloured shoes, are not allowed. This includes Crocs.

OPTIONAL UNIFORM in Terms 2 and 3 only

  • Plain Black beanie (available from The Warehouse).

  • Plain Black jacket (can be worn at break times only, not in the hub).

  • Plain Black short or long sleeve thermal (under school top).

Please note, the correct school uniform is to be worn while inside the school grounds. The optional list is added to the correct uniform, not in replacement.

INCORRECT UNIFORM

If a student is wearing an incorrect uniform item e.g. Incorrect coloured thermal, students will be asked to remove this.

Also please be aware that long trousers must include our school logo and track pants are not accepted.

Students that are not wearing their uniform correctly will be given a reminder by their homeroom teacher or Team Leader. If this continues, you will be contacted to discuss this. You may receive a formal letter from Senior Leadership if there is no change following this.

Please note, if there is a reason your child needs to wear an incorrect uniform item for a period of time, please contact their classroom teacher. We understand situations when a uniform item is lost, wet or damaged can occur from time to time.

NAME UNIFORM ITEMS 

We strongly encourage the naming of all uniform items, including shoes. Our lost property box is always overflowing. Unclaimed, un-named uniform items are periodically disposed of.

If you are trying to locate a lost uniform item, please discuss this with your child's classroom teacher and feel free to check at the school office.
