You may have been overwhelmed at some point this week with a swarm of colour rushing through the school yard...

 This week in Toroa we have been building our house spirit through ‘Survivor Toroa’. A week of teamwork, pride, co-operation, collaboration and well-being.

The children have been taking on various challenges throughout the week, adapting activities from mathematics, literacy, technology, outdoor activities and the arts. Although it is a great week of fun, it is also focused on authentic learning experiences and team work. 

As the week winds down, one house will be named supreme, taking out the 2019 Survivor Toroa challenge! Will it be Kahu Kiwi? Korowai? Harakeke? Or Whitau?

We encourage all students and parents to get behind their houses throughout various activities during the year as it is a pivotal in building upon our culture and spirit within our school.
