Cultural Performance
Paul Tyson - August 8, 2023
KAPA HAKA - We engage an external facilitator (Matua Te Huaki) to lead our Year 5-8 Kapa Haka. This ropu practices weekly and performs in a number of events, festivals, and competitions. Junior teachers lead junior Kapa Haka at different times throughout the school year.
MAU RAKAU - We engage an external facilitator (Matua Damion) to teach our tamariki the "Ko Wai Au" programme, aimed at fostering self-discovery in a culturally respectful Māori environment.
NGĀTAHI COMMUNITY EVENT - We support all of our cultural and music groups to perform at the school Ngātahi event each year. Other opportunities to perform and share cultural traditions, customs, language, and identity are provided throughout the year across the school.
