Marshland School Shines in Speech Competiton!

It was so exciting for me to see our children do so well at the Belfast Speech Competition on Tuesday night! I am super proud of these  children:

The school year is rapidly drawing to a close, yet there is so much to fit in before that happens! Next week will see our final Celebration of Learning assemblies and of course the Annual Prize Giving and Graduation Ceremony for our outgoing Year 8 graduates. I look forward to seeing you all at some stage during these events.

We have now finalised the teams for next year. Pukeko Nest has requested a name change, (since they are well and truly a team in their own right now). They have chosen the name "Kiwi". 

We say goodbye to Lou Kidd - (who has a job closer to where her family is moving to) and  Heather Libeau Dow (who is retiring). I thank them both so very much for all their wonderful work - Heather for her work lifting the profile of music in the school, and Lou for her work in the Year 1 - 3 area, and for being Acting Team Leader this year.  Also Sonya Bell is taking a Year's refreshment leave. 

George Mottram will return but in a part time capacity working in the Pukeko and Kiwi teams. Hannah Drury will keep busy looking after her baby, but we may see her relieving from time to time.

As this will be the last newsletter for the year, I want to thank you for all your wonderful support of the school. So many of you have given up your time to help in so many ways, and we couldn't give our children as many opportunities without you!  I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a happy, safe New Year!
