1. Teaching and Learning

  • A focus on teaching students leadership skills 
  • Teachers provide clear, firm consistent responses to unwanted behaviours 
  • Promote and support social relationships in a positive way through Ngātahi - Togetherness

2. Consistency

  • School leadership models a collaborative and caring approach
  • School self-reviews and surveys are regularly undertaken 
  • Policies and procedures are applied consistently throughout the whole school

3. Environment

  • The school's entrance is clearly visible and welcoming 
  • The school's grounds and buildings are clean and tidy

4. Community

  • The school provides a welcome environment for parents, family & whānau to connect 
  • Tamariki feel a sense of belonging through the relationships they form and activities they participate in 
  • Firm consequences are in place and are clearly understood by students, staff, family and whānau

5. Modelling

  • Staff interact with students in the playground and positively reinforce the behaviours they want to see 
  • Teachers take seriously all incidents reported to them and respond appropriately
