Marshland School Parent Community Group (PCG) Update

Term 4 is now here and the PCG has already started planning for a couple of fun activities for our tamariki and community.

Ngātahi Community Evening - Friday 8th December

After last year’s successful Ngātahi Community evening, we’re excited to be doing it again from 5pm-8pm on Friday 8th December. This is an evening for friends and family of Marshland School to come together and celebrate the end of another school year, and allow a number of students to showcase what they’ve learnt throughout the year.

The evening will be the same format as last year, with entertainment, food trucks, and spending time with your children and families throughout the night. You’re more than welcome to bring your own dinner, picnic blankets and chairs to relax and enjoy the evening.

What’s new this year?

The PCG has organised a couple of new things for the evening, so we can have one last push to raise money to purchase furniture for the community space/library the school will get mid-next year.

  • Hub hamper raffles

  • Chocolate Wheel

Donations Required for Hub Hamper Raffles

The PCG is coordinating six hampers to raise more money, with the winners drawn at the Ngātahi Community evening. From Monday 24th October to Wednesday 15th November, there will be one large tub in each hub to collect donations from Marshland School families. These will be themed hampers as follows:

  • Kiwi: Kitchen/Pantry

  • Pukeko: Pet

  • Tui: Garden

  • Korimako: Games (indoor & outdoor)

  • Toroa: Beauty

We’d love to get as many donations as possible to make up 6 sizeable hampers that the lucky people will win on the night of the Ngātahi Community evening. Please start thinking about what you can donate, and bring it to your child’s hub from next week.

Lunch Time Barbeque - Friday 10th November

The PCG will hold a lunchtime Barbeque in the second break on Friday 10th November. Students will be able to buy a sausage wrapped in bread (or two) for $2 per sausage. This will be a cash sale on the day, and we’ll send reminders leading up to the day so you don’t forget!
