Inquiry - Features and Change - Pūkeko (Year 2)

For Inquiry this term, we have been focusing on ‘Features and Change’.
Our key understanding for the students was that the earth is made up of connected structures and systems, and that our world has changed over time (cause and effect) because of these. We focused on the layers of the earth, the tectonic plates, and how these tectonic plates change the crust above.
The students loved learning about volcanoes (divergent plates), mountains (convergent plates) and earthquakes (transformative plates). We also completed a series of experiments on how these landforms were created.
