Christchurch East has had a strong focus on Positive Education.
We have had two days of professional development with Kathryn Berkett where we explored trauma-informed practice and resilience building. Staff enjoyed small focus groups where we were able to explore challenges we are facing and ways in which we can positively respond to these.
We are continuing to use Paul Dix - When the Adult Changes, Everything Changes, to review our behaviour management policy and ensure it sits inline with our beliefs around student wellbeing and positive education. Staff have been used Geelong Grammar's Positive Education Enhanced Curriculum to integrate a structured, progressive positive education programme across the school.
Our Kaitiaki group are continuing to plan for the Red Zone land and took part in a trip to visit other projects around the city. Our Nature Agents have also continued with water testing at our site on the Avon River.
