Farewell from Community Lead Mike Fowler

Kia ora e te whānau o Te Taura Here o Ōtautahi - it's time for me to say 'e noho rā'.

It’s the right time for me to whakamānawa i te turangawaewae, to head to a part of Te Wai Pounamu in 2022 that is a major part of my life and my family’s lives – and that is Wānaka and Ōtepoti.

I'm proud of what our unique kāhui ako has achieved since it started in the middle of the 2020 lockdown. That is never a good time to begin a collaborative endeavour, but as I look the 2021 project outcomes reports, it's clear how far we have come.

I'm also pleased that we have focused on aligning our kāhui ako mahi to the plans or our kura and ECEs, as seen in our shared focuses for 2022. That's so important in giving our work credibility and relevance.

I wish everyone in our kāhui ako and our new 2022 community leaders all the best. The community leads appointment will be finalised during December. I'm really pleased that our strong team of across school leaders for next year is confirmed: Laura, Kay, Jasmine, Nathan and Jocelyn.

Noho ora mai

Mike Fowler
