Term 2 Health Programmes

Nick Gunn —

This term we have several programmes running to support the hauora (health) of our learners.

Keeping Ourselves Safe: Years 0-4

This week, a letter was sent through Linc-Ed regarding the Keeping Ourselves Safe programme for our year 0-4 learners. This programme will be delivered throughout the term with Constable Debbie Wilson teaching two sessions in weeks 5 and 7. Please see the link to the letter here.

 Sexuality Road: Years 5-8

This programme is underway in the Tui/Kereru Learning Landscape. Paul Scammel from Family Planning shared information with parents about this programme at last term's Health Consultation. Here is another link to the parent letter sent through Linc-Ed during the school holidays.

Road Safety Sessions: All Learners

In addition, Constable Rick Groen will be delivering two 30 minute sessions for our Kahurangi/ Maunga learners around pedestrian safety. This will involve a practical session on crossing roads in the neighbourhood. Rick will also run two 90 minute cycle safety sessions for the learners in the Tui/Kereru learning landscape. These sessions will take place in weeks 5, 6 and 7 of the term.
