Lemonwood Grove School — Dec 31, 2021

The development of Lemonwood Grove’s school based curriculum has been guided in part by Australian educational researcher Dr Julia Atkin’s “Circles Model”.

At the centre of this model, we start with the “why” – our core values and beliefs around teaching and learning. Extending outward in a second circle is the “how” – researched principles that guide and support our core values and beliefs. In the final circle are our practices which describe what learning will look like at Lemonwood Grove School.

Simon Sinek is an author, speaker and consultant who writes on leadership and management. He terms this model the “Golden Circles” and talks about the importance of starting with the “why”. In this short clip, Simon discusses the model using examples from well known businesses and historical figures.
