Sport and EOTC* Update

Nick Gunn —

* Education Outside the Classroom

As part of our Outdoor Education all learners will be taking part in four lessons from Flips and Tumbles at Rolleston. This will run on Mondays starting on the 11th June and finishing on the 2nd July.

Flips and Tumbles is a tumbling based gymnastics club where your child will be taught how to fall safely, learn tumbling and acro skills in a safe environment.

We ask for a contribution of $5 per child per session. $20 will be added to your child’s account.

In term 3, Lemonwood Grove School will be participating in our first ever ski trip for our year 5-8 learners. This will be on the 10th August at Porter Heights Ski field. More details will be handed out later in the term.

Our last hockey lesson from Will at Small Sticks was held this week in which learners played mini games against each other. They have learnt great hockey skills from these lessons and we are looking forward to them being used at the year 5-8 Hockey/Football Tournament on the 27th June at Foster Park.

We also have the year 5/6 Rippa Rugby Tournament on the 19th June at the Lincoln Domain

Finally, a reminder that all prizes for the School Fun Run need to be chosen before the 4th June. To do this go to www.schoolfundraising.co.nz. Go into your child’s profile page and they can select their prize.
