Carpark

Sean Bailey —

At the Board of Trustees meeting on 13.12.17 we discussed the school carpark. Both the Waitaha and Lemonwood Grove Boards believe that the current design potentially needs to be modified to meet the ongoing needs of both our school communities.

Our main concern is the lack of safe pedestrian access from one end of the carpark to the other.

The Board have discussed various steps they can put into place to hopefully reach a positive outcome, however please be aware that this may take time.

Until any possible changes are made, we would like to promote the following health and safety practices from the beginning of 2018.

  • All children are to continue to wear their safety vests to and from school.

  • Bikes and scooters are not to be ridden in the carpark.

  • If you are driving your child/ren to school, we would really appreciate it if you could escort them to the carpark entrance gate and then meet them at the gate at the end of each day.

  • Please also note that the kiss and drop area is not for parking.

  • Please do not drive down the lane in front of Waitaha School when you are dropping your children off.

Your children’s safety is very important to us and we will continue to keep you updated around the progress we are making.

Yours sincerely
