Basketball Round Up

Michael McAllister —

As a child, I could never understand why my friend's dad volunteered to coach our football team. With age comes clarity and the smiles, laughter and a sense of accomplishment on the faces of the school basketball team make every minute worth it. It’s been phenomenal seeing the team’s skills grow over subsequent games. The team has come off a streak of unlucky losses and flipped the script into a winning streak. The majority of the team have been giving up their Thursday afternoons to train for their Monday games and the dividends are paying.

I’d love to see Basketball grow across the school next into Year 3/4 and 5/6 teams next year. This requires parent support to manage teams. If being a part of change appeals, feel free to reach out to michaelm@lemonwoodgrove.school.nz to indicate interest for next year as a team manager.

Nga Mihi nui,

Michael McAllister
