Sean Bailey —

On Friday we will celebrate our one and a half year anniversary! As you know, so much has been achieved together during this time.

This week Mark Bell and Ann Bodkin from the Education Review Office have been onsite to carry out a new school Assurance Review. This review follows on from the completed Readiness Review. It is a review of particular areas of performance and is undertaken to specific terms of reference, within the first year of the school’s operation. Our report focused on four key elements:

  • the quality of our systems for monitoring and reporting on how well students are learning.

  • how effective our school’s curriculum is in promoting and supporting student learning.

  • how well our school is meeting the needs of learners at high risk of poor outcomes.

  • how well placed our school is to sustain and improve its performance.

The emerging findings were reported to our Board of Trustees on Wednesday afternoon. They are very positive and confirm the amazing teaching and learning that is taking place at LWG. We look forward to receiving our first published report mid Term 3.

I would like to thank our staff for their outstanding commitment to our school community this term. They continue to drive innovative teaching practices across our school and as a result our learners are living out our school vision "the best of you, as you".

Have a happy and safe holiday break with your whanau and we will see you back on Monday 23 July.
