Selwyn District Council - CultureFest 18th October 10am - 4pm

Selwyn District Council are again putting on a fantastic festival to celebrate the many cultures that make up our wonderful district. Culturefest will be held at Lincoln Events Centre and Domain on 18th October from 10am to 4pm.

There is a main stage with cultural performances being shown throughout the day, delicious ethnic food, games and activities that everyone will enjoy.

From 17th October to 24th October we have a number of events being held around our district such a belly dancing class, cooking demonstration, women’s only swimming evening, traditional tea ceremony – check out www.selwyn.govt.nz/events to find out more information.

Garba Rolls 2020

Mark your diaries for Sunday, 25th October from 7pm to 11pm, for when the second edition of GarbaRolls will kick off at Rolleston Community Centre, 94 Rolleston Drive, Rolleston 7614. GarbaRolls 2020 is a free entry event for the entire family, which will showcase colourful Indian folk dance named “Garba”, delicious ethnic food and traditional music.

Rolleston Community Centre will come alive again this October with an evening of celebration through music, dance and food. After the success of last year, GarbaRolls returns to entertain local residents as well as friends & family from around Canterbury. An event that takes place only once a year, is being described as a night not to be missed.

As a proud supporter of the Cancer Society, all proceeds from GarbaRolls 2020 and donations gratefully received on the night will be passed directly to the Cancer Society.

In addition, organizers have planned two free Garba dance lessons. Open to all ages, they are intended to be fun interactive classes. Both lessons will be held at the Rolleston Community Centre; Saturday 10th October from 10.00am to 11.00am and Sunday 18th October from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.

Selwyn Miniball - Registrations Now Open

Selwyn Miniball competition registrations are now available on our website linked here:https://www.sporty.co.nz/selwynbasketball/MINIBALL-1/tab1
Because of Covid-19 we have had to let our 12 week primary competition spill into this current term, this means we are going to have to run an altered 4 week competition for miniball as opposed to the usual 6 week competition. This is because we simply can't fit in any additional weeks of games. Hopefully we will be back to normal for our miniball competition for the first term next year!
