Parent Education Workshop: Child Anxiety

Nick Gunn —

This term we will be hosting a parent workshop with Catherine Gallagher, a Clinical Psychologist on childhood anxiety.

This session will take place on August 20th 7pm-8:30pm in the Grove.

About Catherine: Catherine is a clinical psychologist who has worked for 18 years in the public, private, university, and NGO sector working with children and their families, supporting them around emotional and behavioural issues. In addition to private practice, she is currently the clinical practice manager at START, which is an agency that supports children, youth and adults who have experienced sexual abuse.

Focus of talk: When our child is suffering from anxiety, it is hard to know what to do as parents. It can be upsetting to witness our children’s distress and as parents we can lose our confidence around handing situations, as nothing seems to work…at least consistently!! This talk is aimed at providing information and strategies to understand and manage anxiety in order to ‘shrink it down to size’. This will enable your anxious child to ‘do life’ and be equal to any challenges they may face as they grow and develop.

Please use this form to RSVP.

A gold coin koha would be appreciated to help cover costs.
