Learner Achievements
Congratulations to Max (pictured above) in Year 6 on receiving the Player of the Season award for hockey. Max played for the Waikirikiri Y5/6 Weta team this year. What a wonderful achievement!
Lydia sat her Royal Academy of Dance Grade 1 Ballet exam back in August. Lydia is a very dedicated dancer who achieved Merit in her exam. Her parents are really proud of her achievement!
Clara competed last weekend in The Ashburton Gymnastics Club competition for West Melton Gymnastics Club. Clara is currently in GymFun and placed;
1st in Bar; 1st in Vault; 2nd in Floor and 3rd in Beam.
She placed 2nd Overall.
She has worked very hard on her routines and her parents are so proud of her achievement!
Mohammed Ayman was recently named "Player of the Day" at the Selwyn United Football Club for the winter season! It’s a huge accomplishment and really reflects his hard work and enthusiasm for the sport.
Maddy from the Rolly Racers netball team won the Kirsty O'Connell 'Spirit of Netball' award for player spirit. In Maddy's words, she got these trophies for being a committed team member and being a little pocket rocket on the court.
Congratulations to the Rolleston Warriors Rugby League Under 10’s team who competed at the Queenstown Junior League Festival on September 7th and 8th.
The boys battled through bitterly cold and wet conditions on Day 1, with a win and a loss before the third round was abandoned for the sake of player welfare. The team regrouped on day 2 with high spirits and took out all three games in a muddy demonstration of Grit.
They were recognized for their outstanding recycling efforts throughout the tournament - demonstrating the Lemonwood values of Responsibility and Integrity, and helping the event in their goal toward becoming waste-free.
To top off the weekend, the team was crowned the 2024 SUPREME WINNERS of the tournament (across all three grades of U10, U11 and U12)!!!
The team couldn't have got there without the commitment from these four Lemonwood Grove legends, Nikau, Kase, Geo and Dehan.
Kase was also recognised for his sweet skills and sportsmanship, by being named in the tournament U10 team!
Win or lose, rain or shine, the Under 10’s team showed great sportsmanship, dedication, passion, determination and respect throughout the whole tour - both on and off the field - and represented their club, schools and whānau with great pride.
Well done boys!
