Happy smiles and hard work in Hinutuhi.

Lexie McLachlan —

Take a look at what some of our Year 5 and 6 learners have been up to in their spaces.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been working on creating these self-portrait pieces. We started by having our photo taken, while pulling a funny face, and then cut these in half and chose which side of our picture we wanted to draw. We took great care in the sketching of our faces and other features to try and make them as accurate and in proportion as possible. It was challenging at times, but with GRIT and help from our kaiako we have achieved these excellent art creations.

In Maths, we have been undertaking some measurement inquiries and trying to figure out if there is any correlation between height and armspan, the length of our thumb and the size of our ear and whether the length of our forearm really is the same length as our foot.
