Gastroenteritis (viral) Tummy Bug

Helen Devlin —

A number of families are reporting that the Gastro bug has hit their family. This is beginning to have an effect across the school and is resulting in a number of absences.

Please respect our learners and staff by keeping your child home until well and for 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

Symptoms appear after 1–3 days after contact. Vomiting and diarrhoea last up to 48 hours and the child remains contagious for 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.

If your child is unwell, please ensure you notify the Office before 9am via phone call, email or the SchoolApp. You are welcome to email your child's whanau teacher to notify them of the absence, however please ensure you copy office@lemonwoodgrove.school.nz into the email as well as often Teachers are unable to clear their emails until later in the day.

We appreciate your support around this.
