Sean's Spot

Sean Bailey —

It's great to be back at LWG working mornings (at this stage). One observation I made on Monday was how caring and empathetic our learners are. A number of children came up to me and were genuinely interested in how I was. This is a key indicator that a positive school culture based on our values is alive here at Lemonwood Grove.

I would like to personally acknowledge Nick Gunn and Jen Hodgkinson who stepped up to Acting Principal and Acting Deputy Principal while I was away. Their leadership during this time was outstanding. I would also like to acknowledge our amazing staff for all their hard work and dedication to our learners needs during this time.

During the break, our staff participated in two professional development opportunities. The first workshop focused on Learning through Play and was facilitated by Longworth Education. A number of other schools and educators attended and were really impressed with our school.

A number of us also attended the ENERGISE Conference at West Rolleston School. Congratulations to Jen and Jennie who presented.

I have been really impressed with how quickly our learners have adjusted back into school life after the holidays. When I have been in our learning spaces this week I have observed happy, engaged and motivated students.

We have an action packed term ahead. Please continue to check the Community Calendar on the website for events.

Have an awesome term everyone.

Sean
