Message from the Principal
Term three, week five 2023
Kia ora koutou Sefton Whanau,
Wahoo! COVID Expectations
Effective from 12:01am Tuesday 15 August, the 7 day mandatory isolation and wearing of face masks for visitors to healthcare facilities has been removed. The Government is removing the remaining COVID-19 public health requirements. What an amazing moment to celebrate with a positive outlook for the future that we no longer send home communications on COVID systems and guidelines that we all need to follow! However, please keep your child/ren at home if they are showing any flu like signs so that we can help limit the spread of sickness schoolwide. We still have a number of students absent due to sickness, the current winter cold is hitting some of our students very hard with relapses. Please get in touch if you need any further support.
Tottenham Hotspurs Development Coaching Session
In an exciting turn of events, our school had the incredible opportunity to host a Development Coaching Session with none other than the renowned Tottenham Hotspurs! Our students had the privilege of participating in a skills and drills session that provided invaluable insights into the world of professional football. One of the highlights was the inspirational journey shared by Shannon, a pro footballer, who captivated everyone with her story of determination and hard work.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Gemma and Cormac for entering us into this competition and making this memorable experience possible for our students. The session not only enhanced their football skills but also left them motivated to pursue their dreams with passion and dedication. To top it all off, there were plenty of free giveaways that added an extra touch of excitement to the day! Check out the photos below or on the school facebook page.
Celebrating Jump Jam Success
We are overjoyed to announce the remarkable achievements of our Jump Jam girls - The Glitter Bugs! Their dedication and hard work have earned them two merit awards in the categories of presentation and technical skills. This accomplishment speaks volumes about their commitment and the exceptional guidance they received from our amazing staff and coaches, Miss Andrews and Ju. Congratulations to our Jump Jam team for their outstanding performance!
PB4L - Another amazing celebration!
Big shout out to all our students - what an amazing bunch of students we have! Last Friday the students had an amazing 'Plan your own Day' celebration! This was to reward all children for following the school values and applying the PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) lessons and strategies at school. Teachers dressed up as students, lots of yummy baking treats were made, high interest games were played, hut building occurred, disco dancing party time was scheduled in the afternoon and so much more fun occurred!! Thanks for all your support - kids had a blast!
