PRINCIPALS NEWS
Dear parents, caregivers and whanau
The Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that Jane Fong will be taking on the role of Acting Principal from the beginning of Term 3 while the school goes through the process of employing a new principal. It is anticipated that Mrs Fong will hold this position for the rest of this year while the Board seeks out a new person to fill the role of Principal. The school has employed Maxine Cowap for the rest of this year to fill the teaching role in Room 5 that has become available. There will be other changes that will become apparent as we facilitate this change over of roles and responsibilities.
It was with great anticipation that Rooms 3 and 4 tuned in to the announcements of the winners of the North Canterbury Qualifying ePro8 Challenges on Tuesday morning. The cheers were loud when the announcements came through that 3 teams had secured places in the top three positions in the Y5/6 and Y7/8 sections. Congratulations to:
Y5/6 1st Sefton Solos: Monikah, Imani, Ivan and Zac - Golden Gate Bridge
Y5/6 2nd Sefton L&P: Emmy, Penny, Elin and Amelia - L&P Bottle
Y7/8 2nd Sefton Chicks: Emma, Isabelle, Grace C and Grace H. - Big Ben
Two other teams also qualified for the next round which will be held in the last week of term at Kaiapoi North School. The next round is a step up in terms of expectations so the children will need to have their thinking and building skills to the fore when they work against the other schools.
