Office Sefton School —

Information for parents.

It’s that time of year again.

The day where the school and community can get together to participate and enjoy children's pets.

This is our first post-COVID Pet day that we hope that you all enjoy!

We have just focussed on the pet’s this year with a few extra fun events organised.

For the rest of the morning the children are able to enjoy a "Mini Fair" run by the Senior School Students. They plan and run it themselves devising various games & activities charging a small fee of $5 each student to participate in as many activities at the fair. All proceeds from the fair go to our Year 8’s leavers events.

11:45am onwards - Parents and Pets welcome onsite

Sausage Sizzle.

Don’t forget to bring along a little extra money should you wish to enjoy a sausage or two which will be available over the lunchtime period, $2 per sausage.

12:30-3:00pm

In the afternoon, we have the pet sections. Your child’s pet needs to be at school around 11:45 -12.25pm ready for the afternoon judging which begins at 12:30 pm. Once all the judging is complete we have the ‘grand parade’ and prize giving. Please make sure your pets' health and wellbeing needs are met for the time that they are at school. (Food, water, shade, in the correct area and health records up to date).

.Preschoolers / Parents / Whānau

Preschoolers are most welcome to join in the fun of this day. Please see the entry form the afternoon pet entries available for them.

Parents and extended whānau - There are two new categories for parents to enter. One for the blokes and the other for the ladies. It would be much appreciated if you could participate! This adds to the fun of the day and the children really enjoy this support from you.

We look forward to enjoying this day with you all.

Wheeler Cup Project (Wheeler Cup)

This cup is open to all children showing calves, lambs/sheep or goats in combination with a project which is handed in for judging as part of the morning entries. It was donated to the school by a local farmer, the late Mr Colin Wheeler, in 1964. His objective was to encourage children of the school to rear and keep records of their agricultural pet's progress. The project is to complement the showing of their animal on the day where they will be judged on leading and handling, care & attention and knowledge of the animal. The projects will be on display to the public on pet day. The most overall points for both animal and project will be awarded the Wheeler Cup. It’s time to start those projects GOOD LUCK !
