Kenzie, the kindness and care you show everyone in our kura every day is outstanding. You are the first person to offer a kind word of support to someone struggling and you always look out for other people. You are inclusive and think positively about everyone. You reflect on your learning and actions and always strive to be the best you can be. You are so resilient, nothing is a bother and you are always happy to help with any job that needs doing. You take initiative, are creative, a good friend, and a determined student. We see you sharing your kindness and positive spirit across our kura every day. Thank you so much!

Respect - Manaakitanga

Avaya Parata: Avaya, the manaakitanga you show everyone in our kura each day is outstanding. You make good choices that are respectful to your own and others learning. You speak kindly, are considerate and look out for your friends and peers. Thank you for all the care, respect and kindness you bring to our kura everyday. Mīharo, Avaya.

Kaitlyn Chapman: Katityn, thank you for the way you have continually demonstrated respect across your school day. You have lovely manners, always saying thank you when others do things for you. We also like the way you are respectful for our environment each day - what a great role model. Kia kaha Kaitlyn

Jack Steghuis: Jack, this term you have exemplified Respect - Manaakitanga through your kind and thoughtful interactions with peers, juniors, and teachers. Your encouragement of others to do their best, combined with your consistently positive attitude, makes you an outstanding role model. Tino pai, Jack—keep shining!

Masen Riach: You showed incredible manaakitanga on school camp with the way you interacted with your peers, instructors and parent helpers; you are always respectful, courteous and thankful to others. Masen was the first up each night to offer to help with the dishes - a super effort here!

Bella Gardiner Bella you show manaakitanga in every part of your school day and respect people and property equally. You show lovely manners to the adults in your classroom at all times and respect the learning and play equipment in the classroom and outdoor spaces. When playing and working with your friends you always consider their thoughts and feelings. You make great effort to meet their needs before your own because you respect that their thoughts and feelings are as important as your own. Mīharo Bella

Emmy Trebilcock: Emmy, everyday you show respect at Sefton School. You show respect to people, places and things at our school. You lead by example with your manners and you are thoughtful in your friendships. Each day you join in with our class and you have fun with your learning. Tino Pai !!

Relationships - Whanaungatanga

Delia Tregurtha Delia, you are such a thoughtful and inclusive person in our class. You are always happy to work with anyone and offer your support and kindness to whoever is needing some help. You show care and happiness to everyone in our classroom. You are welcoming to knew people and visitors and always show your manners. Thank you, Delia!

Halle Tregurtha Halle, it has been so lovely watching you grow and use your relationship skills over the year. You have an understanding of when people need support and your kindess and empathy shine through at these times. We have seen you be inclusive of your classmates and the smile you bring to our classroom lifts everyone's day.

Josh Ward Awarded to Josh for exemplifying the value of Relationships - Whanaungatanga. You have matured into an inclusive, supportive, and kind young man, helping your classmates develop strong relationship skills. You remind us all that kindness is not just a deed, but an attitude that can make a real difference in the lives of others.

Alex Van Tongeren Awarded to Alex for embodying the value of Relationships - Whanaungatanga. Alex, you are a helpful and caring young man, fostering positive relationships with your classmates through kindness, friendship, and fun. You inspire others to be inclusive and supportive. We are all very proud of you, and you should be too!

Celt Hurley Celt, just recently I have observed you diversifying your friendship group. Your positive vibe and 'nothing's a problem' attitude you posess is a real strength - no wonder everyone wants to be mates with Celt! Continue to stick up for yourself and your friends Celt - ka mau te wehi!

Harry Winter Harry you love to play hard with your friends. Although you are working through what that looks and feels like for others, you are friends with everyone and make everyone feel part of your play and games. You can say 'sorry' and mean it if anybody is unhappy while you play and you have the biggest, kindest heart and do not like feeling your actions have upset anyone. With adults, you always want to be in a happy, positive place and have a gift of paying generous compliments! Your attitude towards learning and trying new things is always positive. Keep up the good work Harry.

Katie Katie, you have a bright and cheerful personality. We want to thank you for being a kind friend to others at school. You are always helpful and mindful of others. You are a thoughtful helper and you help in our classroom all the time. Tino Pai !!

Resilience - Manawaroa

Harry Mcpherson Harry, moving to a new school is never easy and you have persevered and made the best of it. Each day you try your best, ask questions and make an effort to join in with your peers. We are proud of how you continue to put your best effort into your learning and how you join in with new friends. You have shown fantastic manawaroa by starting each day with a smile and positivity. Amelia Guthrie WOW Amelia. You have really showed great resilience this term. We have noticed the way you can give tricky tasks a go and even if it doesn't go right the first time, you stick at it. This has made a big impact on the practice you have for new learning, but also with the way you interact with your classmates. Mīharo Amelia

Willow Scott Willow, this term you have consistently demonstrated Resilience - Manawaroa. Your determination in your schoolwork and your ability to tackle every challenge at camp with courage and a positive attitude were truly inspiring. You are a fantastic role model, showing others what perseverance and strength look like. Ka mau te wehi!

Jim Reed You have shown true resilience in your Lighthouse visits at Rangiora High School and the overall transition to high school acitivities that we have been doing. You are so very ready for high school Jim (you tell me daily). I hope that you miss us a little bit because you are going to leave a big hole in Sefton School - Jim you're a legend!

Octavia Munro Tavy, starting school and being away from your family was a big challenge for you. I can see that you are now moving forward and making a big effort to be an independent Junior student. You often walk into class alone and sort everything out for the start of your day and can leave your cousins with a smile and a wave. You are moving away from needing to make connections with older friends and have made friends with classmates and now have a lovely circle of friends. I know you are still practising these things but you are doing amazingly well. Kia Kaha Tavy!

Evelyn Evelyn, you have become an independent student and you are blossoming at Sefton. You are a 'morning manager' and you continue to manage yourself throughout the school day. You have a growing confidence in yourself as a learner. Thank you for giving everything a go at school. Tino pai !!

Reflection - Whaiwhakaaro

Harley Stewart Harley, you show whaiwhakaaro by thinking carefully about your learning and pushing yourself to do more each time or try new things. You are thoguhtful and patient with yourself in your learning and continue to move forward even when it's a bit tricky. You think about your next steps and how you want to improve and then make the effort to do so. Keep up the fantastic mahi, Harley!

Sophie Guthrie Sophie, it has been great to see the way you can use our reflection value. You are showing that you can think about what you are doing with your learning and you are taking on board feedback that is given to you as well. You do this across both academic learning and social situations. I really like the way you have begun to see how you can use your strengths in different situations. Well done.

Milla Sleeman-Shaw Milla, you have embodied Reflection - Whaiwhakaaro with your thoughtful and mature approach to feedback. You consistently reflect on your work and interactions, using your insights to strive for improvement and aim for the highest standards. Ka pai, Milla—your dedication and growth are truly inspiring!

Corban Julian Corban, you have really reflected on your learning this entire year and you are taking notice of what it is that you need to do to achieve. It has been awesome to see you get involved in your strengths; Evolocity, Epro8, Kowai athletics and Canterbury athletics to name a few, Miharo Corban - lookngi forward to working with you again in 2024Q

Darcie Tierney Darcie it has been wonderful to see you thinking about your learning and seeing the results of being a positive thinker and problem solver. You have great focus when you are listening to feedback and use it to make changes to your work to improve on what you already know and do. It is fabulous to see you taking responsibility for your self and your learning. Keep on working hard Darcie, you are flying!

Ethan Ethan, we notice that everyday you try so hard with your learning. You have learnt to slow down and take care to produce work that you can be proud of. You do your school work with a smile and positive attitude. Tino Pai !!!
