Values Cup: Lochie Jennings

 Lochie, not just over the last term, but also over the whole year, you consistently show all of Sefton School Values. You ensure you show your manaakitanga respect value to your classroom teachers and all visitors who come into Ōhanga. You have made great friendships and this too is because you show respect to your friends in play and for their ideas, thoughts and feelings. You have a perfect sense of respect for our school buildings, equipment and resources and take pride in keeping our environment clean and tidy. Going back to your friendships, you are always showing your whanaungatanga value. You are a true and loyal friend who shows compassion and kindness to your friends and support then in making the right choices in any situation. You can work out solutions for problems and will ask adults for support when needed. School days can sometimes be tricky and it it here that we see your manawaroa resilience shining through! Whether it is classroom activities that you may finding difficult or there is something that doesn't sit well with you, you just keep tracking through, asking for help if needed or solving the problem yourself without any fuss. Your whaiwhakaaro reflection on all your learning and tricky situations and bring about your own changes for moving forward in your learning and your own personal growth. I am so proud of you Lochie and it has been an absolute pleasure to have been your teacher this year and I will truly miss you being in Ōhanga next year!

Respect - Manaakitanga

Rosa Isle:  For always demonstrating all the Sefton Values, you have a great attitude both inside and outside of the classroom. Rosa, you show lovely manners everyday. You demonstrate mannkitanga by including all of your classmates and newbies when you learn and play. Your bubbly, happy and kind nature makes you a lovely respectful friend to others.

Vera Reed: Vera, you go about your day showing manaakitanga to every person you interact with. You approach others with kindness, empathy and warmth. You are respectful in all of your interactions, take care of our classroom and kura and value the people in our space. Thank you for all of your hard work, kind words and manaakitanga towards our kura and the people here. Tino pai!

Vienna Morgan: Vienna, you are always so respectful of your peers and the adults at school. You have a high level of personal respect and we see you use your lovely manners through your day at school. You demonstrate kindness towards all of your peers and can work respectfully in any group. You include others and can listen and give value to their ideas and opinions. Thank you for quietly and respectfully going about your day at school. Well done.

Clover Iddles: Clover you are able to follow our school values i ngā wā katoa - everyday. This is also reflected in your attitude towards your learning and the way you speak to the teachers. You are pleasant and respectful to others as well. Your book work is always presented to a high standard. You are able to complete all the learning tasks presented to you within the given time-frame. You are an asset and a positive role model in our kura-school. Ka Pai tō mahi

Zachariah Svensson: Zach, you are a respectful member of Room 4. You speak to others with kindness and always use your manners. In the classroom you put effort into your work and show manaakitanga for others learning also. Outside you are inclusive of others and show sportsmanship during class games. We are lucky to have you as a senior next year as you are an excellent role model who demonstrates our school manaakitanga value. Keep up the great effort!

Blake Chapman: Blake it has been a pleasure to have been your teacher this year. You always show respect to staff and students alike through your kind and considerate actions, and all teachers comment on your good attitude in class. You have a mutual respect when with your friends and have a fair sense of play based around the respect you have for your friends. You take great care with your work and show great pride in producing work to a high standard and respect the help and support teachers offer through the changes you make to improve your work. You look after our classroom equipment and resources and enjoy keeping our classroom tidy so that we all have a nice place for our learning. Keep on showing the respect I have seen this year. Kei runganoa atu koe! You are awesome!

Relationships - Whanaungatanga

Marley Tierney: Marley you show sportsmanship towards your peers during Sports Coach sessions and you shone at the Sports Spectacular. Marley you put in 100% effort into Sports at Sefton School. It is wonderful to see you working as part of the team and having fun with your peers.

Genevieve Sutton: Genevieve, you put so much love and compassion into your friendships. You are a true friend because you look out for others, treat them with kindness and respect, and support them in making good choices and being good people. You show whanaungatanga by supporting your friends and those in our class to be the best that they can be. Ka pai!

Sadie Farrell: Sadie you have begun to demonstrate that you can work effectively with a wide variety of your peers. You are able to collaborate and cooperate with others, sharing your ideas and listening to others. It has been good to see you developing your leadership skills with an awareness of the others you are working with. Well done.

Elise Power: Elise, you are loving and considerate in everything you do. You are not only a respectful and dependable person to your friends but you are also friendly and caring toward every student and staff member at our kura. You look out for others, make good choices in your relationships and offer support to others in need. Thank you for being someone we can count on to always be kind, caring and loving. Ka Pai Hoki e Elise!

Amelie Booker: Amelie, you are a cheerful and positive member of our senior classroom. You demonstrate our whanaungatanga value through being a good friend to those around you and working well with others in the classroom. You look out for others in the playground and during buddy time you are a kind and caring role model for our juniors. Amelie, you are exceedingly helpful in the classroom and willingly take on responsibility when given the opportunity. Thank you and keep up the amazing effort!

Arlo Simpson: Arlo you are always looking out for your friends and other students. You stand up for what is right and know when you may need to fix things with a friend. You always speak up when you think someone may need help. We appreciate your compassion for others even when they could be making better choices, as well as your caring and supportive attitude to help guide them along. You do your best every day to show our relationship value. Kei te whakahīhī au ki a koe, Arlo. I am very proud of you Arlo.

Resilience - Manawaroa

Harper Fleming: Harper, everyday you always take pride in your learning and school work. It is a joy to work alongside you and we are so proud of the progress you are making. Your independence is growing and you show resilience by being responsible and independent. Your resilience and courage is growing each day and you are working so hard, amazing! Keep it up!

Amelia Guthrie: Amelia, you show manawaroa, our resilience value, every day. You keep trying at your learning, persevere and always try to do your very best. You fix up mistakes when you need to and move on in a positive way. Every student in room 1 appreciates your kind gestures when they are upset or need some extra love. You share your resilience with your classmates through your kind gestures. Mīharo!

Saskia Svensson: Saskia it has been wonderful to see you developing your resilience this year. You are demonstrating that you can stick with learning task even when they push you outside your comfort zone. You are using what you know as a starting point, tackling the task and you will also come and ask if you are unsure. Well done.

Scarlett Percy: Scarlett we have noticed how mature you have become this half of the year. You are reflecting on what needs to change to make a situation better for yourself. This is a great developing skill Scarlett. You are showing empathy towards others and we notice how you put them before yourself. Kei runga noa atu e Scarlett! Excellent Scarlett. Rawe e Scarlett. Excellent.

Emme Roberts: Emme, you have worked so hard this year and have shown so much manawaroa resilience in your school work that I could not have given this to a more deserving person. There have been multiple times throughout the year where you have had to demonstrate your resilience and each time you have stepped up to the plate. You have achieved so much this year and should be very proud of yourself. You deserve to be acknowledged for the effort and dedication that you have shown in every aspect of school, well done!

Madison Freeman: Madison, you are not afraid to try something that is hard or challenging. You keep trying even when things are tricky and you always put your very best effort into everything you do. You show our resilience value every day by not giving up, finding ways to solve problems, and are not afraid to start again when something doesn't work the first time. Madison you not only show your own resilience but also support and celebrate the achievements of your friends on their learning journeys. Thank you for all your kindness, consideration and resilience this year. Ka pai hoki koe! Good on you!

Reflection - Whaiwhakaaro 

Sophie Guthrie: Sophie it is a treat to have been your teacher. We can see each day how you are thinking about your learning and progress. We are so proud of your learning and achievements. You are putting in more effort each day, you are showing that practise makes progress. You are keen to improve and learn and you have a positive attitude. You are honest, hardworking and you are showing that you are a reflective person. Ka pai!

Kaitlyn Chapman: Kaitlyn, you show whaiwhakaaro, our reflection value, in your learning every day. You are constantly thinking about how you can improve, put your best effort in and grow your skills and knowledge. You are reflective in the way you speak about your success and learning by thinking about what you've done well and what you want to get better at. Great work! Ka pai!

Kyla Morris: Kyla, it has been wonderful to watch you develop your reflection value, particularly this term. You can put this value into practice across your school day, both in your learning and with relationships with your peers. You think carefully about your learning and use feedback in a positive way. Your understanding of how to approach and deal with situations has developed hugely. Well done.

Thomas Webb: Thomas this term has been a term of growth for you. Your dedication to improving your work in every learning area has payed off and you have made lots of progress, particularly in literacy. We are so proud of the amount of Reflection - Whaiwhakaaro you have shown throughout the last two term to improve your attitude and focus towards your learning and behaviour.This have been exceptional and has been commented on by all the staff. Penny Ward: Penny, you are an extremely reflective learner. When faced with a challenge you seek advice and hang on to every piece of feedback given to improve yourself. You take challenges within your stride and look at mistakes as learning opportunities. In this way you are a super role model when it comes to our whaiwhakaaro reflection value. You have such a positive reflective attitude when it comes to your learning that I know you will do amazing things in the future.

Jasper Bone: Jasper I have been so impressed by how you have stepped up this year. You have begun to see yourself as a leader that can bring about a positive change in others because of your own actions. You have grown into a reliable and sensible student, making good choices and doing the right thing, without losing your witty sense of humour. It it great to see that you are now also guiding your friends too and seeking the help of adults rather than trying to solve big problems yourself.
