I am extremely delighted to appointed as the new Principal of your wonderful children at Sefton School.
I am a born and bred Cantabrian, and grew up in the suburb of St Martins in Christchurch. I attended St Martins Primary School and then Cashmere High School. In my seventh form year I did an AFS Student Exchange to Germany.
When I returned from Germany, I went to Lincoln University and completed my Bachelor of Recreation Management in Outdoor Leadership. While at university I started working part time for the NZ Police in the Southern Communication Centre taking emergency calls. I then continued onto Teachers College and completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning. I have continued my drive to learn, in 2015 completing the National Aspiring Principal Programme and in 2016 the Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Practice.
My 18 year teaching career started on the West Coast at St Canice’s in Westport. From there, I went to Ashburton Netherby School as their Senior Syndicate Leader and then Deputy Principal at Broomfield School, then Rangiora Borough School. I have been a part of senior management teams for 15 years.
When I am not teaching you can find me out and about around the country side. enjoying what NZ has to offer, visiting family and friends or relaxing at home with a good book.
I look forward to meeting you all and continuing to provide high quality educational experiences for your children, where children thrive and developto reach their full potential.
Ngā mihi nui,
Heidi Moeller
