In-Zone Enrolments

Te Waka Unua School provides enrolment to all students living within our local community. If your child lives within the school zone we welcome them to enrol.  Please use the link below to enrol your child.  One of the administration team will then make contact with you to organise a meeting and/or transition visits and organise start dates, any other documentation required and support you with the process of joining our school community.

Out of Zone Enrolments

We receive a large number of enquiries from whānau living outside of our school zone.  As our priority is providing quality schooling provision to our local community we rarely have positions available to offer to out of zone students.  

If you do not live in our school zone we encourage you to visit your local school and discuss enrolment in their programme.  Christchurch is fortunate to have quality schools in every community that are committed to providing quality education for all their local children.

If a sibling is already attending Te Waka Unua, you are interested in applying for a place in one of the bilingual programmes or there are mitigating circumstances why an out of zone enrolment should be considered, please contact the school office to receive an ‘out of zone enrolment application form’ to go into the ballot system.  There is no guarantee your child will be successful in being offered an out of zone space but there is a guarantee you are always able to enrol at your local school.

School Expenses

School Fees & Stationery: At Te Waka Unua School there are no school fees and stationery is supplied to students as needed at no cost to whānau.
