This year, Te Waka Unua was lucky to be a part of the Kindness Cup initiative. Each term, 3 students were proudly celebrated for showing kindness towards others. It is a wonderful way to remind ourselves the value of kindness, and to share with our students the importance of treating one another with respect, empathy and compassion. These students may be recognised for including others, offering help without being asked, showing understanding, or going out of their way to make someone feel valued and safe.

Kindness is at the heart of our school values, and this award highlights the small, everyday actions that make a big difference in our community.

By celebrating kindness, we reinforce the importance of positive relationships, wellbeing, and a supportive school culture. The Kindness Cup reminds us all that kindness is powerful, contagious, and something we can choose every day.
