This term, we were incredibly fortunate to bring the Proteus Sports Group’s Breakfast Football Programme to Te Waka Unua School! This programme was for students in Years 5, 6, and 7 who were eager to develop their football skills. This initiative offered both skills coaching and character building, skills that will benefit our students both on the field and beyond.
The programme ran at full capacity with over 30 students engaging in the 4 week programme. The students turned up weekly for the 8.15am - 9.15am session.
Thank you to all of the participants for their enthusiasm for the programme and of course thank's to Ollie Hawkins - Proteus Sports Group for providing the opportunity.
A message from Ollie: "On behalf of our Coaches , Patty, Tom and myself - we are extremely grateful to have connected and shared our passion of Football to the groups over the 4x weeks. We have seen some awesome outcomes of skills developed by all and also we hope we have provided a belief that everyone is good enough to play football - so please go get a ball over summer and get playing!
Many thanks to Te Waka Unua School for the opportunity, Proteus Sports Group, NZ Sikh Society and BDO Christchurch!"
Be sure to keep an eye on the HERO posts for future opportunities!
