Tava'e and Kea Te Tauihu perform on stage.

At the recent Tamai Cultural Festival, students from our Tava'e Samoan bilingual classes and Kea Te Tauihu showcased their cultural pride and talent through respective performances. The Tava'e students opened the stage with three items that highlighted traditional Samoan dance and music. The performance then seamlessly transitioned into a joint item, "Rukutia," setting the stage for the Kea kapa haka group's appearance.

Kea's kapa haka students sang two waiata, "Whakarongo Rā" and "Ka Waiata." Their performance was the result of lots of practice and hard work and showcased their enthusiasm for kapa haka and their courage to take the stage for the first time.

In addition to the Tava'e and Kea Te Tauihu performances, four other Tamai schools took the stage, sharing their own cultural expressions and creating a rich tapestry of Pacific and Māori waiata. The evening concluded with all participating schools coming together to sing the newly composed Tamai song composed by QeyLoux Hakaria, marking a memorable end to the festival.
