Volleyball - Te Aroha College at the 2024 Australian Schools Cup
As many of will know, Te Aroha College had four teams attend the 2024 Australian Schools Cup held on the Gold Coast last week. This was a massive event with 600+ teams attending which equates to about 3000 students. While the focus was on Volleyball, the group went to some of the theme parks, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and of course of a bit of shopping as well.
This was a massive undertaking and a great experience for the students involved. All of the teams were in the right division and all of them had some fantastic hard fought games with some great victories and some heartbreaking losses along the way.
The heat and humidity was a major factor and certainly took some getting used to. Some days were just so hot, playing in massive indoor stadiums in 30+ degrees.
The Junior Boys won their division and had a really good tournament. The Senior Girls placed 7th, Junior Girls 6th and the Senior Boys 15th.
Many thanks to the supporters, the donors, the people and businesses that supported the fundraising, the parents who helped before the trip and the teachers and parents that went on the trip to make it all work.
We had so many compliments about our uniform and how unique it looked.
This was a great experience for our students.
