Careers update

Sarah Verran-Tye —

As we stride into another month filled with opportunities, the Careers Department is abuzz with activity and exciting prospects for our students. Here's a glimpse into what's been happening.

Coromandel Careers Roadshow: Our Year 12 cohort recently embarked on an enriching journey to Thames for the Coromandel Roadshow. This opportunity was to support our students in exploring future career avenues. The roadshow provided invaluable insights into various career options, igniting sparks of inspiration among our students.

Visit from Lincoln University: We also welcomed a representative from Lincoln University, who provided us with valuable information about study programs and scholarship opportunities that they have on offer.

PIHMS Presentation: Representatives from the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) visited our students to discuss future opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector. Their insightful presentation shed light on exciting career opportunities within these dynamic industries, inspiring our students to consider a future in hospitality and tourism.

Year 13 Career Interviews: As our Year 13 students gear up for their final year at Te Aroha College, our Careers Coordinator, Sarah Verran-Tye, has been conducting individual career interviews. These personalized sessions aim to provide tailored guidance and support, ensuring our students are well-equipped to navigate their post-secondary endeavors with confidence.

Upcoming Events: There is a wide array of career based events coming up. Student and whanau are encouraged to keep an eye on our school Facebook page, School Notices, and student emails to find out what's coming up that could benefit them.

The Careers Department remains committed to nurturing the aspirations and ambitions of our students, fostering an environment where dreams take flight. A Te Aroha College Careers website is currently under construction to support students to access upcoming events and create a hub for students and families to plan their future careers. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to journey together toward a future filled with endless possibilities.
