Taiwan experience
A chance for students to travel to Taiwan as part of our International Student marketing programme.
We have had a very successful International Student programme in place for well over 20 years. While there have been some challenging times, especially during the global financial crisis and the recent pandemic, this programme has seen hundreds of International students come to Te Aroha College. We receive very positive feedback about their experiences and are well respected nationally and internationally for the care and opportunities we are able to provide.
One of our stand out features is the quality of our homestay parents. These wonderful families have provided amazing care and have gone to significant lengths to allow these students to feel part of the their family, whether it is for one week or a full year.
Over the years we have hosted many, many principals, school leaders, government officials and parents that accompany our International Students.
To maintain and strengthen these relationships we try to travel to our most important markets every 2-3 years. It has been almost 5 years since our last visit to Taiwan and it is time for us to head over there once again. Mrs Diprose and I will be visiting a number of schools that we have current relationships with as well as some new schools.
This time we would like to offer the chance for some students to be part of the marketing programme and to experience a different country. We anticipate that this will be a 10 day trip, starting in the last week of Term 3 2025. The group would be visiting between 15-20 schools during that time. We will also get to see some of the well known tourist sights and activities of Taiwan as well.
Students will get the chance to stay with Taiwanese families and attend some of the schools. The schools are based in Taipei, Tainan and Kaohsiung. This would be a self-funded trip costing around $2500 per person. There are a number of fundraising opportunities available and can be discussed.
