Attendance - some good news

Neil Harray —

Term 2 2024 summary

The everyday matters MOE attendance data shows a 3% increase in regular attendance (attending for more than 90% of the time) when compared to the 2023 data for term 2.

Students who attended for 90% of the time (using TACOL data) were rewarded with pizza lunch in the last week of Term 2.

Attendance overview for Term 3

We continue to follow up with attendance within school with the following processes;

  • Moderate attendance (70-80% attendance) students will be followed up by their Dean.

Referrals to starfish attendance services for those students who refuse to engage with their Dean or SLT follow up.

Use of letters and other motivations to encourage students into regular attendance and promote attendance through assemblies and notices as a constant reminder.

Once again this term, all students who have 94% or better attendance (using KAMAR stats) or students who have significantly improved their attendance (30% improvement compared to Term 2) will be invited to a catered lunch celebrating their regular attendance.

This is a targeted incentive to motivate student attendance across the school.
