This was the first time for Te Aroha College to attend a national touch rugby tournament.
Touch is on the rise this year at Te Aroha College and the students are really appreciative of the time and effort that has been put in to support this group of players. Many thanks to Mr Shirley & Whaea Arleen who have been key drivers in this sport. Me mihi ka tika ki a kōrua, me kore ake kōrua kāore mātou e eke ki tēnei taumata.
Our Touch Teams first day at Nationals was a rollercoaster, playing four games throughout the day and in the scorching hot sun.
Our first three games took a while for the team to get into their groove going up against some well drilled teams. Every game the team improved remarkably allowing them to secure the first win in the tournament.
Final results:
2 Wins
6 Losses
39th out of 43 mixed teams
