Bay of Plenty Squash Teams result 2022

TGC Squash —

Tauranga Girls’ College fielded 18 players in this year's BOP Squash teams event, being by far the best represented school in the competition with six teams across three Divisions.

Players train every Wednesday morning from 6.30am to 7.45am during Terms 2 and 3 at the Devoy Squash and Fitness club. Currently we have 30 students with five coaches. Players range from total beginners to A grade. Players are put into groups of like ability and coaches tailor programs to suit.

This year Tauranga Girls' College placed in every Division of the BOP Teams competition and it has been fantastic to see players grow from strength to strength in this sport.

Division placings are as follows:

Division 3: Tauranga Girls' College 4 came second against winners John Paul College

Division 2: Tauranga Girls' College 2, were overall winners with close games won against KatiKati College won 2/1 and Papamoa College won 2/1

Division 1: Tauranga Girls' College 1 came second against winners Otumoetai College 2/1

Player of the day was definitely Nuvraan Kaur who played a higher seeded player from current National Champions Otumoetai College. She managed to take a game off her B graded opponent and was very close in another. It has been great seeing all the players use the skills they have learnt over the year in competitive play. Squash was definitely the overall winner on the day.
