This mahi toi has significance and special meaning to me as it has been a way to make connections with my mother who passed away in April last year.
I photographed the figure with specific lighting and some in-camera blur to represent the spirit of my Mum with precious family taonga.
I was inspired by the photography of Erena Baker and have incorporated specific in-camera photographic techniques to help portray my ideas. I am proud of the symbolic and meaningful work I have created.
