Tauranga Intermediate School Speech Judging

TGC —

Aiza Mustasam (Year 11) and Olivia Grimshaw (Year 12) had the privilege of going to Tauranga Intermediate School to judge the Year 7 and Year 8 final speech competitions on Wednesday 7 August.

Both students heard multiple speech topics which ranged from animal testing to the online world, and even generational genes. The speeches were entertaining and well-developed, making it tougher for the judges to choose a winner.

“Being a part of the Tauranga Intermediate Speech Competition was an experience that taught me a lot about myself and my speeches. I enjoyed hearing and learning what the young kids of our generation are passionate about today and overall the experience brought me joy and excitement that made me want to do it again.” - Olivia Grimshaw, Year 12

Judging the Tauranga Intermediate Speech Competitions was truly an insightful experience. I was inspired by the diverse passions and different perspectives of the younger generation, and the whole event filled me with enthusiasm. It also made me more aware of my speeches and how I can refine my skills further to connect with the audience.” - Aiza Mustasam, Year 11

Overall, Aiza and Olivia enjoyed the opportunity to engage with the next generation of speakers and were deeply immersed in their speeches.
