Future Pathways
Career Central
Career Central (https://www.careercentral.school.nz/) helps parents engage in career conversations and support their child's career planning both at school and home. This platform is easy to use, empowering students to take charge of their career journey with personalised planning tools.
We encourage whānau to explore Career Central with their child, using the platform to learn more about career options, their skills and values. This allows parents to be part of their child's career exploration, including interest in Gateway programs, taster courses and trade academies. Our school Pathways department can also be contacted through the portal for support, clarification on job requirements, or to book an appointment.
Career Central is available from Year 9 until students leave TGC and beyond - in the photos below we have Mrs. Wilson and Liz from our Pathways department, working with our Year 9 Social Science students introducing them to the platform and encouraging quiz completion.
Students are strongly encouraged to complete the following 'Student Instructions for Career Central' tutorial, which provides helpful guidance on getting started with features like career quizzes and job exploration tools.
