Sona Kim joined the rest of the Year 12 cohort on a pre-lockdown trip to the Canvas Careers Expo, held at ASB Arena. She is an international student from South Korea who enrolled at Tauranga Girls' College as a Year 10.

Sona was particularly taken with the Pacific Coast Technical Institute display and courses. As the photo shows Apiculture was the course she most focussed on, with the opportunity to dress in the bee-keepers gear. The course offered is a Certificate in Apiculture.

Sona said that Mark from PCTI shared some course information and offered for her to try on the protective suit.

"It was actually comfortable and very light, not heavy."
"It was a fun experience and I learned a lot. I have never had a bee sting."
