Ms Kanji —

Welcome to our new students

Nau mai haere mai to our new Year 9 students.  We are looking forward to meeting you at our orientation day on 28 November.  The day begins at 9 am and is facilitated by our Deputy Principal Mrs Cade.  All students would have received information inviting them to this event via their current school.

Shhhhh exams are on

Thank you for the respect that our Year 9 and 10 students have shown as they have moved around the school.  With NCEA examinations well underway, those sitting and supervising exams we do appreciate your quiet actions. Many thanks to our Principals Nominee (PN), Mrs. Emma Talbot, her centre manager, and their team of invigilators for the work that they do at this time of the year.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Despite the year coming to an end, it’s always a good time to remember and engage with the five ways to well-being.

Year 9 and 10 Activities to celebrate the end of the year

As we bring the year to an end, our staff have been busy preparing for learning beyond the classroom with end-of-year activities. All Year 9 and 10 students will have now signed up for school-based or away-based activities depending on their Year level. If you are still trying to figure it out, email our Sports Director, Mrs Kaye Barnett, who has been working tirelessly with her colleagues to ensure the opportunities to learn, explore and experience curriculum outside of the classroom are available for all.

Phones away for the day

We continue to celebrate 95% compliance with ensuring phones are not visible during the school day.  Thank you to our families who support us with this mandated requirement.

School Office

Our school office closes for the year on December 9th, 2024, and re-opens on Wednesday, 22 January 2025. During this period, there will be no one answering phone calls or responding to emails. Enrollments can still be completed online.  Students with curriculum questions can either check the websites curriculum guide or email their Dean when the school office re-opens.

Structured Literacy

Thank you to Sarah Stock, DP at Greenpark School for her presentation on Structured Literacy.  As Tauranga Peninsular Kahui Ako Schools, we take such opportunities to share our knowledge across our transition schools.
