Tauranga City Council is looking at the future use of the Greerton Racecourse Reserve

Tauranga City Council —

Tauranga City Council is looking at the future use of the Greerton Racecourse Reserve on Cameron Road which is currently used for a racecourse, golf club, events and equestrian activities. The total reserve land area is 85ha – about the size of 100 rugby fields – and could be used for other activities as the city continues to grow, including some housing, sports fields, a community centre and better connections to the Kopurererua Valley for walkers and cyclists.

As part of the Greerton Maarawaewae Study, council invited ideas from the community and has come up with seven options for people to consider. Feedback on these options is open until 28 February.

See the options and give feedback at www.tauranga.govt.nz/greertonmaarawaewae. As future users of the reserve, council is particularly interested in feedback from the city’s young people.
