Dance NZ Made Nationals 2024
Over the last weekend of the Term 3 school holidays, 12 students traveled to Palmerston North for the Dance NZ Made Nationals. These students achieved some amazing results and did the school very proud!
On Saturday morning 4 students competed in the Solo section after receiving a nomination from their regional competition earlier in the year.
Tatianna Curtis placed 4th in NZ for the Year 11 category.
Briar Grace placed 5th in NZ for the Year 12 category.
Shayla-Rose Smith placed 2nd in NZ for the Year 12 category.
Faith Shotton-Brown did not place in the Year 13 category but her performance was of a very high standard in a tough class.
On Saturday evening all 12 girls competed in a huge and very talented open team class and while they did not place, they were incredible and danced the best they have seen all year. Those students were;
Briar Grace
Faith Shotton-Brown
Grace Gundry
Hannah Kawan
Honey Marinas
Izzy Hume
Jessica Pilbrow
Lexie Lochead
Sophie Denham
Sophie McKinnon
Shayla-Rose Smith
Tatianna Curtis
On Sunday afternoon, Faith Shotton-Brown and Sophie McKinnon competed in the Year 11-13 Duo/Trio class after winning their regional competition. Again, this was a very big, talented class, and although they did not place, they were very happy with their performance.
Dance Troupes are now complete for 2024, and we are looking forward to 2025!
