On Friday 24 July, TGC had seven teams compete at the Western Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools’ Badminton Team Championships. From this event, three teams qualified for the Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools’ Team Championships held at QEYC on Wednesday 5 August.

The teams were excellent ambassadors of the school and demonstrated a high level of skill and sportsmanship.

The Blue Team - Niranjana Vonid Nair, Prachi Patel, Umaiza Hussein, Harmony Hohepa and Jin Lee
Finished 3rd in Division One

The Orange Team - Elle Archer, Kyra Addison, Ryza Flett and Ella Henstock (who replaced Ella Vrieze who competed with this team in the WBOP Event)
Finished 4th in Division Two

The Green Team - Maya Whitley, Ava Barker, Isla Russell and Honey Cooney
Finished 2nd in Division Three and were awarded silver medals.
