Celebrating Empowerment: International Women's Day

Anjali Pillay —

“Who runs the world, Girls!” TGC celebrated female empowerment with a splash of colour on International Women's Day, observed globally on 8 March 2024, which serves as a powerful reminder of the strides made towards gender equality and the ongoing struggle for women's rights. It is a special day set aside to applaud the accomplishments of women from all walks of life, pushing for a balanced scale of gender parity and nurturing a world where discrimination is a forgotten word and every woman and girl can soar to their highest potential.

The kura was lively with mini-tributes to mothers, to the admirable traits of our dedicated teachers mirrored in students' outfits, to women whose influence reshapes our world, and to leaders whose success stories are the scripts for our dreams.

In essence, it wasn't just a day of fun; it was a day steeped in inspiration and the unwavering belief in the bright future of our students—a future where gender does not dictate one's capabilities or ceiling. At TGC, International Women's Day was not only a celebration of how far we've come but also a vibrant promise of how much further we aim to achieve together.
