Get 2 Go Challenge

Sport —

On Thursday 30 July TGC had three teams head off to Rotorua to participate in the Bay of Plenty Get 2 Go Challenge against 20 other schools in the Bay of Plenty region.

After a rocky start, with one team fixing a flat tyre before heading off, the day got into action. After our briefing the girls were off to the kayaking task first. This was the girls most successful task of the day. One of the Year 10 teams got the 4th highest score. Rock climbing was up next and the girls had to take on various climbs and gained points for making it half way or the full way up. The mountain biking took place on an easy fun course, thankfully no crashing into trees. The girls had to get as many laps as possible in a set time.

The last challenge of the day was the orienteering. This was definitely a challenge for one of the groups where map reading and finding their way around the checkers in a set time was a bit harder than they thought. The girls had a great day and enjoyed the various challenges set by Hillary Outdoors.
