Senior Speech Competition
Amplify your voice. Speak on what matters the most. “Pick up the Megaphone”. This was the theme for the 2024 TGC Senior Speech Competition, held on the 20th of August.
Many relevant issues were discussed, from Neisha Hitchcock’s (Y12) speech on the Importance of Girls’ Education to Aiza Mustasam’s (Y11) speech on Unity, and Ansh Dhot’s (Y13) The Rope of Unity: Racism in New Zealand Te Taura Tangata. Every speaker brought a unique voice and passion to their topic, which made it a difficult decision for the judges.
The winner in the end was Aiza Mustasam, whose speech was beautifully written with profound personal connections.
The competition was organised by the Year 12s in the comms committee: Kyla Chen, Sophie Denham, and Elea Hargreaves with help from Kiarni Sperling, Ansh Dhot, and Ms. Scully.
