Who wouldn’t love the opportunity to spend the day marvelling at cave formations and floating down streams on tyre tubes?

The Level 1 Geography classes had a fun and educational field trip to discover all that the Waitomo Caves has to offer tourists; whilst focusing on how people use the environment, the consequences of this use and is it sustainable?

The fundamental lesson is that we are all kaitiakitanga. As a department we are very thankful to the Board of Trustees for their financial support of this field trip.
