Save the Date ~ Sunday 21 March

To coincide with Neighbours week, I would like to partner with interested entities (agencies, businesses, residents etc) who would like to organise and/or participate in a ‘gala day’ type celebration at Anzac Park in Gate Pa – to also officially launch the upgraded playground and BBQ area in the park. Traditionally this area of Gate Pa has been viewed with negative connotations so with a focus on the incredible upgrade to the park, connection with your neighbours & community in general (aka also addressing the huge issue we have with social isolation) we would like to see a free, fun and family friendly event happen at the park. If you would like to lead the organisation of this event, or contribute in some way either as part of an organising working group or a participant on the day (all services welcome) please contact me directly by emailing lisa.mackinnon@tauranga.govt.nz. Part of the park upgrade includes some awesome “all purpose” goals on the field and accessible equipment on the playground itself along with an accessible picnic table beside the new BBQ so I am hopeful someone out there would be keen to lead the organisation of such an event.
